Cenicafé 1 is a high-yield, disease-resistant coffee variety developed by Colombia's Centro Nacional de Investigaciones de Café (Cenicafé). A cross between Caturra and Timor Hybrid, it offers farmers natural resistance to leaf rust and coffee berry disease while delivering an excellent specialty cup profile.

  • Origin: Developed over 20 years by the FNC and Cenicafé.
  • Resistance: Naturally resistant to coffee leaf rust and Coffee Berry Disease (CBD).
  • Plant Density: Can be planted at high densities (7,000 to 10,000 plants per hectare).
  • Yield: Average production is 17.6 kg of cherry coffee per tree per cycle.
  • Bean Quality: Yields a high percentage of "Supremo" grade beans (average 84.3%). [1, 2]
