Bosa Wayuu Bags (mochilas) are authentic pieces of art hand-woven by talented women from the Wayuu indigenous community in the Guajira, the northern region of Colombian on the Caribbean Sea.
The ethnic bags are crocheted with soft and pliable acrylic yarns. Each kana (figure) on the bags symbolizes events or elements of nature. This is the inspiration for the amazing “mochila” bag’s the Wayuu create delicately and painstakingly. These bags use ancestral knowledge that has obtained the “Designation of Origin” due to their authenticity.
No two bags are the same and no bag is truly recreated – each one is a unique handcrafted piece. slight variations or imperfections are due to traditional hand – made process.
